Setting Up Your Store Cupboard For Balanced Family Food

Having spent the last 8 weeks living in a hotel, you can imagine my excitement at finally getting into our new home this week. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel was beautiful, the employees were entirely hospitable, the restaurants and room service were great, and not having to think about laundry and housework was a dream… However for those who know me, you will not be surprised that I was getting desperate to get back into the kitchen and get back to cooking for my family.

As soon as our shipment from London had arrived safely into our new home, our first priority was to get the kitchen properly equipped with all those store cupboard items that are essential for preparing balanced family food. Of all the lists over the recent months, this was my favourite.

After some research, I concluded with the following:

Balsamic vinegar
Coffee
Dijon mustard

Ok, so this shop took 2 trolleys and a bit of patience because of the different packaging and branding (I miss Sainos!), but it was entirely worth it. The kitchen is now stocked and ready for many a quick and easy supper to be created. As I sit back now and with my feet up during nap time, with a good batch of soup simmering away for supper tonight, I feel my shoulders drop down. Phew, we did it. We moved to Canada.
