Half term is the perfect time to get the kiddos involved in my kitchen antics and to give them the freedom to choose what they are eating… Well, to a degree. For certain meals.
This time, we used a batch of my Tomveg sauce as the base and then topped with little half teaspoons of pesto, sprinkles of crispy bacon lardons, grated cheddar and dollops of mascarpone.
Baked in a preheated hot oven for about 25 mins to ensure the pastry was cooked enough to not be soggy but the cheese isn’t too ‘golden..’. For some reason the kiddos aren’t terribly keen on my more crispy cheese version 😜
